| List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they're any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying now. Post these instructions in your Livejournal along with your seven songs. Then tag seven other people to see what they're listening to.
1) John Mayer - 'Come Back To Bed' 2) Team Sleep - 'Ever' 3) MF Doom - 'Friends' 4) Cave In - 'Crossbearer' 5) Shai Hulud - 'Let Us At Last Praise the Colonizers of Dreams' 6) Biffy Clyro - 'Liberate The Illiterate' 7) Jets To Brazil - 'Lucky Charm'

Mendeed Friday Night Gunfight In Accordance
Monday the 20th of December Bannermans bar Doors 7pm Over 18s £3 in Adv
Glasgow metallers Mendeed play their first Edinburgh show since releasing their second EP "As We Rise" on Mark Daghorns label Rise Again records. You may have seen the guys on one of their numerous support slots which include Anthrax, Beecher, Fallen To, My Ruin, Charger, Pitchshifter and Dragonforce.
Friday Night Gunfight - "Chugga chugga we're gonna kick your teeth in." - Kingmob
Opening band In Accordance, used to go by the moniker *.* (Star Dot Star) but with the arrival of new Vocallist Andrew Callis (formerly of Out by Degrees fame) came a new name. With only a couple of gigs under their collective belt these guys deliver their own concoction of styles with devastating effect.
Right, come to this gig.
That is all.

| Well, that was a great weekend. I'm still shattered after practise on Friday, gig in Edinburgh on Saturday and gig in Edinburgh on Sunday. I did enjoy myself at both gigs, but I think I maybe let myself down slightly with my playing. I KNOW I can be better, but at gigs I tend to hold back alot. I'll eventually overcome it.
A few early problems with setting up the kit at the Edinburgh show. The drummer from Collapse Of Reason set up the drum kit, but had it pretty much against the wall, and the kit was on a little platform and if I moved it forward everything fell off the platform. So after setting up my cymbals etc, I sat behind the kit and I left elbow was rubbing off the wall and there's absolutely no way I could play like that. So after stressing and alot of adjustments, I eventually got the kit in a half-decent position and just couldn't be fucked moving it after that.
We were first on, and I think we played really well as a whole. Dan went pretty radge and started a pit then ran away then almost falling whilst playing. People seemed to enjoy us and we had a few people coming up and asking about cd's and stuff, so I just told them to check on the website for updates on the band.
The other bands (Collapse Of Reason, Sons Of Slaughter, Conquest Of Steel and Man Must Die) were ace. A good night was had overall. I stayed at the Slab and had a couple of beers before falling asleep for about ten minutes before djwally came staggering in and shouting some random abuse at me, like always. And about an hour later gusstav, johnnyrandom and Dan come in and they talked what was quite possibly the biggest pile of bollocks ever. At about 6am gusstav thinks it's a good idea to make lots and lots of cheese and ham toasties. He didn't even eat any of them, haha. johnnyrandom then crashed out at about 7am and so did I. Only to be woken up at 9am-ish by a VERY drunk junkyard_god. He had only stopped drinking about 20 minutes before he got home.
I went home at about 12:30pm after going with Dan to pick up his girlfriend Louisa, and I had something to eat and a shower, then just general time-killing before Dan picked me up again at 4pm to go to the Slab to meet everyone. We left to pick up Mark from his work then headed through to Dundee. MUCH banter was had going through there. Highlights included the petrol station stop where Dan dropped his Lucozade bottle by accident, then threw it at the ground for good measure and it exploded all over mattariasrench. It was hilarious as Dan and Matt stood in shock.
We left the petrol station and tanned it to Dundee. When we got there, we didn't actually realise how small The Balcony Bar is. I was well looking forward to playing. The Balcony Bar is opposite a church place thing. We asked the women who were running some show that was going on in there if they needed a band to play. But unfortunately they already had a band booked. Oh well. But it's cool though. We took our stuff in and met a couple members of the other bands who were really nice. We chilled outside for a while before the first band (A Written Apology) went on. It was my second time seeing them and I really enjoyed their set. Then it was our set. I think we played pretty well again. It just made us realise that we need to tighten a few bits up. After our set I was pretty pissed at myself because I felt that while everyone else in the band was putting on a great performance, I was lacking something. I can't identify what it is yet, but hopefully I'll realise soon because I'm sick of letting myself down.
But anyway, 3rd Born Sun stepped in for Errata and they played really well. It was good to see Hairy Dave again too. Headliners, Equilibrium were up next. Now I didn't think of much of them and I couldn't understand why they were headlining. Standard metal/nu-metal with terrible vocals. But who cares? Near the end of their set, we said cheerio to everyone and left for Edinburgh. We stopped off at 24/7 Tesco in Dundee on the way back as Sam had reccomended it highly. Haha. The banter on the way home was also fantastic, with Dan shouting out every word he could think of that ended in a "ay" sound in a high-pitched voice. He's strange like that.
When I finally for home at about 2am, I sat and watched terrible tv before drifting off to sleep. My left arm and neck are really sore. I think I just need to put some muscle-relaxer on them.
Ultra-thanks to Maggie, Tony, Brendo, Wayne, Donald, Brutal Keith and Matt Rench for driving, coming to the gigs, taking photos and helping out one way or another. You are ace. We took LOADS of photos so once I get a hold of them I'll put them on here.
It was the best weekend I've had in a long long time. Getting to travel a bit and play music with four of my best friends is something I wouldn't trade for anything.
